K+1
Founded by French-Lebanese architect Karine Yassine, K+1 is a collaborative design platform engaged in the delivery to its clients of design without limits and with a uniquely personalized edge.
Receiving a degree in architecture while minoring in fine arts at the American University of Beirut in 2010, Karine’s design-odyssey has led to internships within architecture and design studios in Beirut (Yousef Haidar), New York (Left Architects) and Barcelona (BAD), ultimately joining Zaha Hadid in London for the period 2011 to 2016 before returning to Lebanon.
The variety and wealth of experience gained during this period shaped Karine as an adaptable designer with highly-tuned communication skills – both of which helped form the foundations for the establishment of her own platform – K+1 – in 2017.
Building the right team lays at the foundations of K+1 and, together with her clients and partners, Karine is engaging in a dialogue and translating the language of architecture from the built environment into a human dimension.
With experience of working on collaborations across the broadest range and scales of design, K+1 are an integral part of the creative conversation through the execution of a growing number of local, regional and international projects.
Playing a pivotal role in the development of each project, through an extensive and highly curated network of partner-designers and architects with specialized experience, Karine matches each with the right project and retains an intimate insight through to every project’s completion and without compromise.
